2K Details Next-Gen Features for NBA 2K21

Posted on October 26, 2020October 26, 2020 by doggonegames

2K has revealed details about the next-gen versions of NBA 2K21. Alongside the expected bump in visual quality, the game on new consoles will also feature next-gen AI and new customisation options for MyPlayer.

According to the blog post making the announcement, MyPlayer will no longer force players to choose from preset skill breakdown pie charts. Players will instead get the ability to control individual ratings.

There are also plenty of changes coming to the game’s badges. “Many favorites return, but most have undergone some significant functionality changes,” says the blog post. A few badges are also leaving the game, including Contact Finisher, Fancy Footwork and Fastbreak Finisher, among others.

The next-gen AI in the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 versions of NBA 2K21 will allow for more nuanced behaviour of computer-controlled characters on the court. For a full breakdown of everything changing in the AI, check out the official blog post.
